My name is Elyse Hatch and this year is my tenth year teaching music at the Gengras Center.  My background includes a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Miami University and a Master’s in Special Education with a focus on autism and neurodiverse learners from the University of Saint Joseph. 

Every day, I feel incredibly lucky to share my love of music with such an amazing and diverse group of students. My classroom is a hands-on, inclusive space where all students are encouraged to explore, create, and enjoy music in ways that are meaningful to them.  I specialize in adapting music instruction for students ages 5-23 to support a wide range of needs, including students with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and physical challenges.  My goal is to help every student connect with music, express themselves, and build confidence through joyful, engaging experiences.

I designed this website as a resource for my students as well as other music educators to get ideas for their own music classrooms.  I hope you enjoy!
