Classes filled out brackets to get exposed to music from different time periods. We listened to songs by each of the composers and picked our favorite until we ended with a final champion.
We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday in music class by listening to songs, playing instruments and doing other hands on activities based on books written by Dr. Seuss.
Here are a few!
Ten Apples Up On Top!
We couldn't travel to Italy without talking about pizza!
We created songs, completed puzzles, and played rhythm games based on our favorite pizza toppings.
Many songs in China are based on the pentatonic scale, so students took turns improvising on resonator bells to create their own Chinese arrangement.
We also learned a number of fun dances that helped us learn more about the culture and how,
in Africa, rhythm is part of their every day lives.
We have started traveling Around the World in Music Class!
We will be creating passports and "traveling" to countries to learn about
instruments and types of music all over the world.
To kick off the unit, we played Around the World Music BINGO and learned about a plethora of new instruments from all over the world.
