Play a Game! Game #1: Match the Eggs
Make pairs of egg shakers (at least 3) containing different items so that they make different sounds. Mix up the eggs and have someone else match the correct sounds together. Game #2: Hot or Cold What you need: egg shakers, an item to hide (egg, stuffed animal, etc) Directions: While one person closes their eyes, another person hides the item (egg, stuffed animal, etc). After the item is hid, the other person opens their eyes. Help them find the item by playing your egg shaker at different dynamics (volumes). Play your egg shaker quietly (piano) when they are far away from the object and louder (forte) as they get closer to help them find the object, similar to the game hot or cold. Practice your rhythm reading along with this video: Print out the following template and use pretzels to create the rhythms. If you don't have pretzels, you can use straws, toothpicks or pipe cleaners instead!
